Connecting with farms
As the prime partner to Farm Medix, staying connected to the farms you support keeps mastitis and hygiene information right where you need it.

What connecting gives you
✅ Access to all farm data — Snapshot Surveillance, Herdscreen, and Fresh Cow Dry Cow.
✅ Process Fresh Cow Dry Cow tests on the farm's behalf.
✅ Request Snapshot tests, single or surveillance, and work through the whole process:
· Sampling directly, or filing a sample request through MilkTestNZ or Hills Laboratory.
· Filling out the form to gather farm data.
· Accessing and issuing reports, and tracking action completion.
✅ Request Herdscreen tests, and work through the process:
· Requesting kits and vials.
· Shipping samples.
· Accessing and issuing reports.
✅ Use the chat function to interact with your farms, or with the Farm Medix team.
How connections work
Farm Medix will always do its best to connect FIL to every farm in the system by default — we just need to know who on your team each farm should be connected to. You can also connect to farms directly, any time.
A farm can choose to remove their connection with you at any point — that's not something Farm Medix controls. Farmers are always free to invite you to reconnect.
METHOD 1
Connect to a farm directly
1. Go to Connections
From the menu, open Connections under Network.
2. Tap Request New Connection
Every connection you've sent or received lives on this page — active, awaiting, and sent.
3. Enter the dairy company and supplier number
Type both exactly as registered with the farm's dairy company, and tap Find. A match appears below if the farm's already in our database.
4. Add the farm, and send the request
Tap Add to move it into Farms to request, then tap Send Request. The farm's admin will be asked to approve it.
💡 No match found? The farm isn't in our system yet — move on to Method 2 to create it.
METHOD 2
Creating a farm that isn't listed yet
1. Go to Farms, tap Add Farm, and enter its details
From the menu, open Farms, tap Add Farm, and enter the dairy company name and supplier ID.
WE FIND A MATCH
Link to the existing farm
Fill out the fields that apply, and confirm who from your team should be connected — you're assigned by default. Tap Send Link Request.
NO MATCH FOUND
Create the farm from scratch
Fill in the farm's details and a first admin account for them — this is the login for whoever manages the farm.
Complete the location fields, then tap Create Farm. The admin contact receives an invite to set a password and finish onboarding.
Once approved, you're connected
Farm Medix reviews any newly created farm before an invite goes out to the contact you provided. Once the farm accepts your request, you're automatically connected and ready to work together.
