Leg band you can trust
Built for real farm conditions
How does it work?
Stride-On is activated by moisture present in the animal’s environment. Using our CopperFlow™ technology, it releases a steady flow of copper, that naturally supports healthy hooves, skin, and keratin structure, for effective lameness support.

Made for tough conditions
Stride-On’s durable design stands up to mud, manure, cow movements, and daily wear. It stays on and keeps working, no matter the conditions. Designed with animal comfort in mind.
Simple to use
Simply secure the band above the dew claw with a loose fit. You’re good to go. Stride-On is intended for use in preventative care, early-stage, and mild cases of lameness. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult your veterinarian.

We’ve pulled together the most common questions people have about Stride-On
Stride-On provides a continuous, low-dose release of copper ions from a band placed above the dew claw. These ions naturally move down the leg with sweat and moisture, forming a gentle antimicrobial layer over the hoof wall, sole, and white line.
Copper is well documented for its broad-spectrum antimicrobial properties. Stride-On supports hoof hygiene and integrity but is not a medicine and does not replace veterinary or hoof trimming care.
Yes. Continuous copper contact helps make the hoof surface less hospitable to microbes involved in recurring issues such as digital dermatitis, foot rot, or white line deterioration.
For cows prone to these conditions, Stride-On can be worn continuously, especially during wet or high-risk periods.Always consult your vet or hoof trimmer if lameness persists or worsens.
That depends on the type and depth of the hoof concern.
- For mild hygiene issues or early-stage softening, visible improvement may occur within 2–3 weeks.
- For deeper or long-standing problems, noticeable change may take longer.
Stride-On works best as part of a consistent routine with proper trimming, cleaning, and nutrition.
We’ve compiled answers to the most frequently asked questions about how Stride-On helps with various conditions
Foot rot is a painful bacterial infection that begins between the claws, often after skin softening or injury. Typical signs include swelling, heat, and a foul odour. It is commonly caused by Fusobacterium necrophorum and Dichelobacter nodosus.
It supports hygiene during and after recovery by maintaining a cleaner environment.Stride-On should be used alongside veterinary advice and hoof trimming when active infection is present.
Digital dermatitis is a contagious bacterial infection of the skin around the heel or dewclaw, caused mainly by Treponema species. It produces raw, painful lesions that can recur if the environment stays moist and dirty.
Stride-On can assist by maintaining a surface environment that is less favourable to bacterial growth. Always seek veterinary advice for active, open, or painful lesions before use.
We’ve compiled answers to the most frequently asked questions about how Stride-On
Yes. Stride-On sits above the level of your footbath or mat solution, so there is little direct contact with the band. However, if you use acidified copper or formaldehyde-based footbaths, the band may release copper more quickly, which can shorten its lifespan. In such cases, monitor band condition and replace as needed.
If bedding regularly sticks and hardens around the band, it can block the release of copper and reduce or stop the band's effect. This usually happens when bedding is very fine, damp, or compacted by humidity or poor drainage. If the environment remains persistently wet or sticky despite these steps, Stride-On may not perform optimally in those conditions and might not be the best fit for that housing system.
Yes, you can use Stride-On where lime is used, but avoid excessive or caustic (hydrated) lime. Lime can reduce copper release from the band and irritate skin if it builds up on the legs. If lime is used, apply it sparingly, and keep cubicles and alleys clean and dry. Stride-On works best in well-managed environments with moderate lime use and good hygiene.
We’ve pulled together the key questions on using and maintaining Stride-On safely
Each band typically remains active for one lactation period under normal conditions. Activity depends on humidity, wear, and management. You can check copper activity by touch (the metallic insert should remain visible and intact) or with a copper test strip. Replace the band when the copper is exhausted or the strap shows wear.
Yes. It is compatible with most hoof-cleaning, conditioning, and veterinary treatment routines. Avoid direct application of corrosive chemicals (such as formalin) to the band.
If your cow shows persistent lameness, deep cracks, swelling, discharge, or strong odour, contact your veterinarian or hoof trimmer promptly. Stride-On supports hoof care but diagnosis and treatment decisions must be made by qualified professionals.
