Strengthening Global Collaboration in Mastitis Management
Farm Medix was proud to welcome our partners Naoto Kitamura and Hiroyuki Azuma from GEA Orion to New Zealand. Their visit marked an important step in deepening our collaboration, with a shared focus on advancing practical, science-led mastitis management on dairy farms.
Seeing the Farm Medix Approach in Action. During their visit, our partners toured local dairy farms to see firsthand how Snapshot bulk tank milk testing and FCDC on-farm testing are applied in real-world conditions. Beyond theory, they observed how New Zealand farmers use evidence-based tools to make informed decisions that improve herd health, lower somatic cell counts (SCC), and enhance overall farm performance.
Snapshot bulk tank milk testing identifies the pathogens associated with mastitis, high SCC, and hygiene issues. By pinpointing root causes at the farm level, it enables practical solutions and preventive strategies tailored to each herd. FCDC on-farm mastitis testing provides rapid, actionable insights, supporting timely responses and more targeted treatment decisions.
Bringing Innovation to Japanese Dairy Farms. This partnership blends GEA Orion’s local expertise with proven New Zealand on-farm systems. Together, we aim to provide practical, evidence-based solutions that help Japanese farmers:
• Understand pathogens presence and their causes more deeply
• Apply more targeted treatments
• Improve milk quality
• Strengthen herd performance
• Enhance profitability
This visit highlights our commitment to sharing New Zealand dairy innovation internationally. We look forward to further developing this collaboration and supporting Japanese farmers in implementing data-driven mastitis management strategies on their farms.
