The NZ Dairy Expo once again delivered two days of valuable conversations, practical insights, and strong engagement.
We’d like to sincerely thank the dairy farmers who took the time to visit our stand, share their herd health challenges, and discuss how they’re managing mastitis, SCC, and lameness on farm. Events like this reinforce why we do what we do: supporting farmers with practical, evidence-based tools that help them make informed decisions and achieve measurable progress.
Strong interest in on-farm mastitis testing
One of the clear points of interest this year was on-farm mastitis testing - Fresh Cow Dry Cow™. Many farmers are actively looking for ways to:
• detect mastitis earlier
• make faster, more informed treatment decisions
• reduce unnecessary antibiotic use
• manage somatic cell counts (SCC) more effectively
• improve overall herd performance
Having access to reliable on-farm diagnostics gives farmers greater control and confidence in their mastitis management strategy. It was encouraging to see how many conversations focused not just on treatment, but on prevention, early intervention, and long-term control.
A growing focus on bovine lameness
We also saw strong engagement around bovine lameness management. Lameness remains a significant challenge on dairy farms, with direct impacts on:
• milk production
• fertility
• animal welfare
• overall farm profitability
Farmers showed strong interest in practical, on-farm strategies to manage lameness before it impacts performance or welfare. These conversations align with a wider, documented trend toward proactive lameness management, emphasizing early intervention to reduce animal discomfort and economic loss. We are proud to support this approach with our Stride-On™ Bovine legband, designed to help farmers respond effectively and timely.
Why events like this matter
The NZ Dairy Expo is about more than showcasing products. It provides an opportunity to connect directly with farmers, understand the realities they face, and ensure the solutions we offer remain relevant to New Zealand farming systems.
The feedback, questions, and insights shared over the two days play an important role in shaping how we continue to support the dairy industry.
Looking ahead
We’re already looking forward to next year. The quality of conversations, the relationships strengthened, and the progress we see on farm make events like this genuinely valuable.
To everyone who visited us at the Expo, thank you for your trust and support. If you weren’t able to attend but would like to learn more about our on-farm mastitis testing or bovine lameness solutions, please get in touch with our team.
